Frank L. Figueroa Jr.
Frank has been our lead pastor since the summer of 2007 and has shepherded God's flock with care and diligence. He has been married for over 20 years to his bride, April, who is a first grade teacher at a local Christian School. He adheres to the authority of God's Word and teaches systematically and expositionally through the Bible. He is also a speaker for Reasons For Hope due to his enthusiasm, boldness, and commitment to Christian apologetics.
After graduating from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, Dave and his wife Tia moved back to Hawaii where she was born and raised. They both stared working as public high school teachers in 2001, however Tia left teaching when they had the first of their seven children in 2004. Dave still currently works full time as a high school teacher. At Waipio GBC, Dave serves as our youth pastor and as an elder, and he is also on the deacon board. He also enjoys the beauty of God’s creation in the mountains and the oceans of Hawaii with his family.
Steve's wife Elizabeth and he have 5 children and 6 grandkids. He is a Deacon and Elder, and also privileged serves on our praise & worship team. He serves as a Centershot Hawaii archery instructor and is a NRA Instructor in his private life. He also serves on the Hawaii Awana ministry team and is the activities director for the Hawaii Merit Camp. With all these titles and hats, Steve would just rather be know as a b
eliever that knows, loves, and serves our Lord Jesus Christ.
Scott has a mixed military back ground from an Airforce family, served in the Army, and currently works for the Marine Corps. Scott is married to his wonderful wife of over 20 years and he also has four children. His wife is also a Psychologist serving the community in a variety of ways. His role in our local assembly is to teach others how to understand God's Word in all of It's contexts and encourage them to apply it to their daily life.
Children's Ministry Leader
Tia Heldt was born and raised in Central Oahu, where she lives now with her Husband, Dave and their seven children. She attended Grace College in Winona Lake In, where she Majored in Art Education. Shortly after graduation and marriage Tia and Dave returned to Oahu to teach on the West Coast. Although always being involved in children’s ministry as a volunteer it wasn’t until 2007 her and Dave felt called to Leadership. Their prayer is to strengthen the faith of families through children’s, youth and family ministries.
