Testimonies:
The following are some testimonies of those who attend our church:
My whole life has consisted of wrong doing, drugs, stealing and everything else that comes with it. I finally ended up in prison and did a few years for my behavior. While I was there I so called “found the Lord”, and the reason I say that is because only while I was in there, “I found Jesus”. I would pray to Him constantly that if He gave me another chance at life on the outside I would promise to change my life and try to walk the right path through Him. As you know when I got out all the prayers stopped, and worshiping Him stopped also. I have now been out for 13 years and although I knew that He was my Lord and Savior I somehow always had an excuse not to attend church. For the few times that I did go to church, trying to find the church for me on Oahu, was difficult. I never felt comfortable with the sermons or the surroundings making it even harder for me to return again.
A few months ago, one of my good friends that has attended our church for many years made a comment to me that stuck with me for the next few weeks. She told me, "It never hurts to have God In your life.”
I finally had the courage to attend although I was ashamed, for most of the people that attend our church knew me for the bad things I did throughout my life. But, I went anyway.
Every week now I look so forward to attending our church for the simple fact of the way the Word is preached. Out of all the churches that I have attended I have never gotten the understanding of the Word the way it’s laid down at Waipio GBC. I feel better about my life now. When I leave and can’t wait to hear the next sermon. Thank you very much for giving me the understanding of life, family, and Jesus Christ. It brings peace, love, and harmony to everything that life has to offer.
